It probably helps that mine are so used to walking together and don't weave around each other too much. I just hold the leads the way we were taught in obedience school, using both hands. The ends (handles) of the leads are held in my right hand (I'm right-handed) and then across my body to my left side. I'm also holding the leads with my left hand about 15" or so down from the handles.
