Yeah- this sounds like a terrible situation- I would never buy from someone who I wasn't comfortable with having my dog. I had a short trip planned before I got my first Yorkie- I worked it out with the breeder and I took him home for a few weeks to start to get him settled in and then she watched him while I was away- she didn't want him with a stranger at such a young age. I had no issues sending him back there- if I thought she mistreated him or couldn't properly care for him, I never would have taken him in the first place.
20 puppies is ALOT! And it seems odd to me that a breeder can't keep track of which puppy was sold to which person??? Nail polish on the toenail at such an advanced age?
All of my dogs have at the very least cried at that age- when left alone, when put in the crate at night- I don't think it is very easy to hide a dog.
