Dogs are senior at age 7, but for small breeds, the title can probably be pushed back til age 9 or 10. I have a 9 year old and don't really consider her a senior.
How much is she eating and how much does she weigh?
We do testing annually regardless of age. Twice a year wouldn't hurt either. At this point I just do a blood panel with CBC and a U/A (plus heartworm, fecal...). The blood panel we are doing now is not very in depth. If my girl were totally healthy, then I'd get something more detailed. However, at this point with all that she already has wrong, we probably aren't going to start trying to diagnosis and treat a crazy abnormality that shows up.
