I use the diaper genie also. I use a tray that came with a indoor potty that I purchased about 3 years ago. I used it a few times with the fake grass but it started to have a bad order, so I just use the tray and put the pee pad on it. Jackie is the only one that uses the pee pads and she is a walker as well, when she poops. So I purchased another pee pad holder and she will not use it at all. I keep it in my room, because at night I keep my door closed. So they will go to a pee pad but not the one with the holder. I do not know why.I wish it did work for my guys.
