Teddy loves people but he does sometimes does get scared around children. If he does get scared, he will hide behind me. Usually if a child wants to pet him, I pick him up and kneel down to their level. Since we live in New York City it is hard to get a block without someone stopping you...Teddy doesn't mind he loves the attention!
