Not to go off topic here... but it is important: Vets 'in the know' are doing it for all dogs, regardless of breed or size. It's so much safer and much more effective to separate the vaccines, all the time.

Microchips now are smaller than a grain of rice and goes just under the skin. The needle used to implant the chip is scary looking, but they are specially designed to puncture the skin in such a way that it will close back up immediately. There are risks involved as with anything, but are generally considered very safe and effective.
