Retained Baby Teeth As I've posted, Brooke Lynn had her double canines (and a couple of little teeth) pulled yesterday. I brought her home at 5pm, expecting her not to be at her best after the digging out of the teeth (long roots!) and the anesthesia and all. Well, she was absolutely raring to go. She leapt and played and ran around and begged for food. In the end, I gave her dinner and she was fine.
She also chewed mightily on a bone, which I've been trying to get her to do to loosen these teeth up - and she's been pretty unwilling. Those extra teeth must have been very uncomfortable/painful 'cause she's been chewing like a madwoman since then. We hadn't really noticed her chewing become less vigorous, but it certainly has in retrospect.
If your yorkie is over 6 months old and has retained teeth, I'd encourage you do have them pulled sooner rather than later. Brooke is 7 months next week and in retrospect, these teeth have been a problem over a month.
