I have a shih tzu that once in a while will have reverse sneezing. I have read that it is common in these type of breeds, dogs with the smooshed in faces. I hate that honking sound too. It does not last long. And comes out of knowhere. My yorkie has never had this issue though. Both my 2 are nearly the same size, and the yorkie weighs more. It could be allergy related. But the shih tzu hardly ever has this problem sneezing. Thankfully it is not a common experience with her.
