I picked up nutrical and I have been watching her like a hawk. She doesn't get much play time because her sister HATES her at the moment. Bri wants nothing to do with her. We wrap her up when she sleeps because she gets cold.
She was on puppy chow at the breeders, and that is what she was on when she came home. She refused to eat. The vet suggested getting wet food for the time being. She eats the recommended amount of wet food 3 times a day and gets dry food any other time she's hungry.
I've learned the warning signs and I have been able to handle her sugar before she has an attack!
Thanks so much for the advice! She's already super feisty, so I cannot WAIT for her to get over this so she can play more! |

Congrats on your new baby...
Are you sure that Ellie is eating the biscuits between meals??..
I think for a puppy that is tiny like her she should be eating more than 3 times a day. She's probably in need of more food to put her weight back +grow normally.
My girl is 2.5lb at 11 months and I used to give her food 5 to 6 times a day to control her Hypoglycemia and sometimes it wasn't enough because I couldn't keep an eye on her during the night.. result.. in the morning she was really bad...
Her attacks were happening often but when I started doing this they completely disappeared. I still have to keep a close eye on her until today.
She might be feeling stressed because of Bri as well.. afterall is frightening enough being in a new home... imagine being around someone who doesnt like you (for now)... keeping her separated so she can have a nice 'safe' sleep helps a lot...maybe a playpen or another room like it was suggested already...
if she tends to feel cold at night... more energy consuming for her as well.. trying to keep their temperature.. warm wheat bag or a warm hot bottle of water (I used this last one... for me it was the best..just warm.. never hot..)
I am sure she will be alright.. you are doing great already.. a good

mummy for little Ellie..
enjoy!!!
