Hi everyone.

I have pretty good news: We took Darcy back to the vet this AM, but we did not have to leave her for the day today. The main concern is the fluid building up around her lower belly area. This happens with CHF. Dr. Cooper has physically drained her belly on Thurs and Friday, and she now takes Lasik 3x per day. The fluid just keeps coming back. . The only other thing it could be is a tumor in her belly, and he feels she is too weak to survive a surgery explore it.

The good news is that Darcy does not want to be in her oxygen crate any more She is able to crawl out of it when we open the door, and she cries, and has even barked once, to tell us to let her out. She is walking a little better than she was, but she cannot walk far without having to lie down. She is far more alert, and she still responds to words like "treat" "potty" and "bye bye", and her name. She is also perking up at the sounds of her toys, and barking when her brothers are squeaking toys...all of these things are encouraging to me.

Dr. Cooper sent us back home with his oxygen crate and 2 more tanks of oxygen. Darcy only has to go in to it when we think she is over exerted. She laid in it for about 2 hours when we took a nap, but stayed out for 4.5 hours (longest stretch ever) when we woke up. She has eaten, laid on the floor with us when we played with her brothers, and watched a little TV with Dad.

Darcy will go back to the vet on Monday to get her belly re-examined and a blood pressure test. These things will help us to decide what to do next.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers for our girl. They mean so much to us.
