I would try adding canned food again- it will take longer than a week. That is how I put weight on Armani. Also adding some homecooked food can help. I just throw in some protein (chicken, fish, beef, whatever you want), whatever veggies you have laying around and some sweet potatoes- put it all in a slow cooker or a big pot, cover with water and let it cook until it is a stew. Then add a bit to their meal everyday.
