Has anyone had the TPLO surgery where the hardware was left in for a while? Does this hinder the healing or the way your pup walks? Is your pup 'crippled' in any way? I am in no way second guessing the surgeon. There is a family member giving me a hard time.
I have two pups here with the hardware and I am not planning on it ever being removed! Is your family member a vet?

Buster is not going to be crippled because of a plate and screws. The hardware is meant to stay in....sometimes it is removed if there is an issue with it; but to my knowledge it stays in forever.

I have had two of these surgeries done...and had other pups with plates and screws for fractures and they run and play just like before...no problems at all.
