Thanks! This thread has finally put a name on some of my pup's behavior-kneading. We are not cat people & would have never figured this out.
We'd just call it "pedaling her feet" but she'll do this when she is really, really tired. 99% of the time she has a toy in her mouth, she'll start the "kneading" & her eyes will keep closing, sometimes she'll actually fall asleep! It's way too cute, I just thought it was to further display her addiction to playing fetch.
She was given to me at 9.5 weeks old, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Whatever the cause, I love it because she is so cuddly & lovey-dovey when she gets like this!
