Nope, they were 8 and 9 weeks (that's normal for cats). It's actually REALLY common for cats to do this, especially the "kneeding" part. Only one of mine actually still does the "suckling", they both did it as kittens though. She actually did it to my husband's nipple in the summer when he had no shirt on hahahaha I laughed for like 10 minutes LOL. The other one that just kneeds now does it to me every day, purring away lol.
Alomst every cat I've ever had did at least the "kneeding" part and my mom's cat too still "suckles" on this one particular blanket and he's a yr. old. I've read that it releases "feel good" endorphins (sp?) and that's why they seem to get in that "trance" like state when they do it (well, that's what I read about cats anyway) I've never seen a dog do it though, I'm sure it does have something to do with having to leave mom so early. Very cute though
