I just wanted to share an experience.
I always worried about picking my Yorkie up all the time, I thought it might be strange for him to find himself suddenly 'flying'. So I decided that every time I was about to pick him up I would say 'Up'. It took a few months but now.....when I look at him and say 'up' he backs up toward my legs ready to be picked up. I am so happy with this result because it has so many positive points. Now, when he is asking for something, I can immediately find out if he wants to be carried or not.
