I don't agree with that at all...a puppy should spend most of their time OUT of the crate. That means you have to watch the puppy every minute if it's not house trained, which is a pain, yes. We would have family members trade off on puppy-watching, and if we were all too busy or gone for a while, we would put him in his crate no more than an hour or so. The crate is for sleeping.
