Our vet said that if the dog had the puppies easy and several months (like 6 or more) have passed since whelping and the next heat that the uterus is more flexible and to breed them back to back, then skip a heat. Seems like three breedings in a row (especially if they come into heat fairly soon each time) would be a little much.
another 2 cents for whatever it's worth.
