Jada has allergies and she does the reverse sneeze at times. She was really bad this morning, as I am spring cleaning and had stirred up some dust when moving furniture. Try stroking his throat and blowing in his nose, that helps more than anything. It is a really scary sound when they do it.
I know Jada is prone to it when she is excited and now I found out that dust triggers hers too. I was almost ready to take her into the vet this morning, because I would get it to stop and within minutes she was doing it again.
After I was through cleaning the room we were in, it stopped. I agree with the paw licking, it is probably allergy related.
