No need to panic, but I would have the vet take a look just to be on the safe side. It could be many things from an irritated follicle to a benign mass.
Maximo had what looked like a stye on his upper eyelid. I used warm compresses and it went away after a few days. This was about 6 months ago. Just last week, we learned he had ectopic cilia, a hair growing on the underside of his eyelid, toward his eye. It caused a corneal ulcer and he had to have surgery to take care of the hair.
There is no direct correlation between the bump and the gland that produced the hair in Maximo's eye, but it could have been an early warning sign that he is genetically programmed for the condition.
