I would stay away from the Vienna sausage - very high in fat. High fat diet can lead to pancreatitis problems.

I would post in the breeder's section also, just to get their input. I know they have special diets they feed young pups as they are weaning to make sure they get proper nutrition and blood sugar.

I don't think it was your fault. It sounds like this breeder is not registered with a reputable agency (AKC or Canadian CKC) and sold a pup to you that was younger than she claimed and too young to be separated from mother yet.
