I bought two new Yorkie puppies last sunday (5/8) from a dog expo in San Antonio. My previous yorkie had been killed while playing outside by a sharpei and I was heartbroken. I just went to the show to look and fell in love with this small, cute Yorkie that reminded me of her. Not wanting him to be alone, I bought him a friend to play with from the same breeder. I named the boy Jax and the girl Ginger. Ginger is doing just fine. She has been happy and eating since the beginning. However, Jax not so well on the other hand. The breeder gave us no warnings ahead of time and volunteered they were both eating their food great! Well this proved to be a lie. Jax from the beginning had diarrhea (yellow) and would not eat his food. I attributed this to a new home and separation anxiety and let it go. But the next day we were driving home and I noticed he wasnt holding his head up appropriately and his eyes were rolling, hypoglycemia. I immediately took him to the vet and they got his blood sugar up. I never experienced this with my previous dog so I felt horrible. But basically here are my issues:
Jax was sold to me as a parti yorkie - .9 lbs at 2.5 months in good health and eating Diamond? food... He refuses to eat any type of canned or dry food and has had another hypoglycemic episode this morning but luckily my vet gave me nutrical. Also, in my excitement about the puppies I didn't notice they were registered by The American Purebred Canine Society? Is this a legitimate group? My last question is that the his teeth are barely in. Could they have lied about his age?
Any help regarding these issues would be appreciated! I have taken him to the vet 3 times and have incurred over $300 in vet bills on top of what I paid for him. Our family loves him and wants to not have to worry about waking up and finding him dead.
