Glad to hear she's ok.

It's a wake up call for all those that don't have carbon monoxide detectors in their homes to get one.

I never had one until I had a scare. I bought a wee bank owned house last winter. It had been winterized by the bank, so when I got keys to the house, I turned everything back on. The house needed alot of remodeling/updating work. I knew I was tired all the time, but I was working full time during the day and going over to the wee house to work on it every night, so I made sense that I should be tired. One night after working at the wee house, I was too tired to drive home, so I just crashed there. My son panicked when he woke up the next morning because I wasn't there & called my parents. They were worried I'd hurt myself on a power tool or fallen from a ladder, and rushed over to the wee house. There I was sleeping on the living room floor. They woke me & I just felt sick, like I had the flu real bad. They took me to the emergency clinic and as soon as my mum explained the situation, the nurse knew exactly what it was.

Turns out it wasn't the furnace, but the water heater! It was improperly vented with a flexible clothes dryer vent
