You're right. I found a Breeder Referral on akc.org for a breeder in the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, Inc. She has DNA and Pedigree registrations with AKC.
She is very nice and great at answering my questions and I am going to meet the pups tomorrow.

The pup cost $1200. Did you guys pay cash when you bought your dog? Is that typical to pay by cash for that price tag? What about Paypal or credit cards?
