Princess was a sneaky pooper for quite some time. She loved to go behind our steel frame reclining couch that is very difficult to move an inch! So I blocked that off & put things under the end tables (her other spot).
Then when I would see that she went I would take "it" and put it on the pee pad, call her to it & when she would smell it I would give her the "Go Potty" command and a treat.
She did catch on to this rather quickly, however she was much older than your pup, who may not have enough of a "heads up" to get to the pad yet, as she is still so young.
