Default different kinds off itchy.....

If you have dry itchy skin oatmeal products are wonderful as they have a moisturizing affect. However if you have yeasty itchy skin (you can tell this usually more by smell or presence of hotspots) oatmeal is NOT they way to go. If the dog is oily to the touch you need to use dish soap or another degreasing agent. You don't want to give any fungus or bacteria moisture to thrive on. The way to cure hot spots is to dry them up. One of the best things for non dry itches is Listerine- it kills crud, and very safe as well as dissolves dander. You can spray or rub Listerine on a day before a bath, and then use an antiseptic shampoo- I like the ones with neem or tea tree oil. I have found that this is more effective than the expensive prescription shampoos. I am a person that prefers natural approaches and am hoping that someone here can tell me about colloidal silver and itching. Thanks.
