My yorkie's poop (I can't believe I am typing about this
) is always hard dark little tootsie rolls. She doesn't strain to poop so I don't worry about it. I recently changed her diet from cheap grocery store dog food to Nutro and it didn't make any difference in her poop habits. Well maybe less poop but same consistency. Anyway she seems to be fine and it doesn't generally stick in her butt fur and it's easy to pick up off the carpet in case of the occasional opps so no complaints here.
