You don't have to get her hair cut but you can if you choose to. Yorkies go thru lots of color changes as they mature but cutting her hair at a certain time isn't going to change the outcome. If you want her to have a long coat and don't have matting problems you can continue to let it grow. Your groomer can tidy the ends as well as trimming feet and sanitary. Just don't let her get matted or you could end up having to cut it all off.
