Wow, thank you so much Gemy for that helpful advice about how to pick him up! In fact, that is exactly what I have been doing, without realizing that this is what they do at dog shows! It does seem to work pretty well. I am still looking forward to the wound healing so that I can go back to scooping him up right under his little furry belly.
