Thank you all for your support and suggestions. I did make contact with the Pilots N Paws organization and am in hopes something will come of that. The Operation Roger group sounds wonderful too and I will also make contact with them. It's at times like these I wish that I could blink my eyes or twitch my nose to make things magically happen, but I know it usually takes hard work and lots of organizing to get a transport across country.
I would really like to try and save this boy as he most likely could lead a very happy life. I know the vet will hold him if we can find a way to his new home, the other option (PTS) is so not necessary for this boy.
