Is your puppy overweight? Sometimes a puppy will get very overweight, this happens especially in litters of one or two pups. These overweight pups take longer to learn to walk. Their hind legs will be weak but they will pull themselves around with their front legs. Over the years I have had a couple of overweight pups that would not start walking until they were about 5 weeks old. What kind of bedding are you using in the whelping box? It is best to use rugs that are not slick. You want the puppy to be able to get traction with his hind legs. Also you can hold the pup and place the hind end of the pup in the palm of you hand and let the pup push up on the hind legs. I would do this several times a day. Of course if the pup is not overweight and you think there is something wrong then it would be best to have a vet check out the puppy. I am just posting what I have experienced over the years.
