I tried doing something similar, well I took Sophie in and had the groomer cut it, but they left a "skirt". Well because of the cottony coat she looked like she had a mullet. (argh
) So I decided to cut that down, making a long story short I pretty much butchered her hair. It is now grown into a puppy cut but she just looks messy. Can you trim the body short like that and then use thinning shears or something to keep a skirt from sticking out too far? Her fur is unbelieveable thick. Her legs are pretty long so I have been told she needs a skirt to keep from looking too long legged.
