We had to board Sugar Bear for 10 days while we were out of town and the excellent staff at the Whiterock Vet Hospital suggested that my husband and I bring a couple of t-shirts that we had worn for a day along with her. They put the shirts in the bed to make the new surroundings familiar and comforting. That might be something to try along with the other idea to put the new bed into the old bed for a few days. We have three of the same little bed - one in her 'den' (a cubby under a built-in desk in the kitchen where she sleeps at night), one for my office and another in the living room where she lays beside the couch. You could also put the bed beside you when you are watching t.v., etc., and have her lay beside you in it, petting her, etc., until she grows accustomed to it being 'her new place'.
