Since day one Moshe has slept in his crate. He holds it all night and always has.

As long as Cooper doesn't have a UTI or other health concern I think it would be fine to either ignore it and tell him to go lay down or place him in his crate at night. BUT he may freak on the crate thing if he isn't used to it. Bella never liked the crate. She wasn't having any of it and no one was getting any sleep.
