I had planned to get the SS one too, but decided to hold off for a while. I did have the plastic model, and mine loved drinking out of it. The sound even entices them to drink. My cats loved it too. With the Yorkies, it keeps their faces dryer, and that's always a plus!
I quit using the plastic model bc of Tinkerbell's Liver Shunt, as some plastics break down and emit chemicals into the water.
