Veruca is named after the character in Willy Wonka! Her full name is Veruca Salt. She has her own theme: her bed and crate cover are embroidered with golden eggs and her poopy bag holder is a golden egg. We know that the book is really about squirrels, but golden eggs are cuter!

Also, my husband thought of the name AND she doesn't act bratty despite her namesake. Thanks for the compliment!
