I have a teenage Daughter and she LOVES my dog, however the dog is in my care most of the time. I honestly don't trust her to take her for walks even though she is nearly 16 years old. Other then " love " her I don't let her do to much as I like to monitor her food intake. I don't even like her to give her treats unless I supervise. At 16 she is in school all day , busy with friends on the weekends and I would say she would not be a good dog " owner" at this point nor does she have the time needed to care for our dog.
My daughter is very good with the dog, she loves her , brushes her and does her hair but is to busy to be in charge of a dog. However I do think teenagers are fine around yorkies, she is gentle, loving and watches out for her.
