I grew up with Chi's (first dog when I was 3 was a Chi...obviously the family dog and not my responsibility
) but I like to point out that you can have small children and small dogs if both are always supervised!
I developed allergies to my Chi's, and now have a Yorkie and Schnauzer. Neither one bothers me unless I'm clipping...but that is only once every 3/4 weeks.
I often look at the Chi rescues, and have contemplated taking on another one...I love that small dog personality, but training is key as it is for any dog.
