I can't view the links right now (emotionally)...but yes, circuses can be terribly cruel to their 'performers'. They train elephants w/ electrical shocks, rods, hooks.

Elephants especially have big social needs and they bond w/ their family for life - which makes it just so sad

. I don't/won't go to circuses or zoos, at all.
