Chloe's poop has always come out looking old, hard, and petrified(okay petrified may be an exageration)

My best friend has a 4 year old yorkie and his poop is the same way. So is this normal? Do ya'lls yorkies poop look ancient even though it is fresh?
Ive been meaning to ask about this for the past year and somehow it kept slipping my mind (or maybe I was just too embarrased
