I use the pads - no experience with a dog litter box, but I clean up enough litter having 2 cats, so that's enough of that for me lol. The pads are really easy - I just pick up any poop with tp and flush it, then toss the pad when it's dirty and replace. Some people like the washable ones too.
If you are going to use the disposable pads - i'd recommend getting a holder too, Alice for whatever reason, always seems to want to go right on the edge or sometimes misses completely and goes right next to it - so i'm definatly getting a pad holder this week - it sort of turns it into a little "box" but with less mess
