Her appt. is at 3:30 this afternoon, they want to do x rays, I have no idea how far along she is IF she is pregnant. She said this would cost around 45.00 bucks plus an office exam, which isnt an issue. I told her my concerns about the xray being done too early in pregnancy and she said its their protocol (sp?)...So now I need to know what to do from here? Do I let them do the xrays? Thanks. |
Did you ask if they had an ultra-sound machine.
Now, my next question is, if she is with whelp, are you planning to terminate the pregnancy? If so, that x-rays are not a problem. If she is with pups, and you are planning on terminating the pregnancy anyway, I wouldn't wait until the 30th for the spay. I'd have it done ASAP. However, here's another road block you may encounter, some vets won't do it. It's not because of being a moral issue, it's just they are not proficient at the process. So, I would be looking for a back up vet just in case.
