Teddie has been going through that phase and I have been working hard to break it. Telling him leave it wasn't an option, he'd throw a tude and make a noise like he was arguing with me. I started picking him up and putting him in the kitchen, which is blocked off by baby gates, every time he started chewing cords and wires. He is slowly learning that this is an undesireable action that gets him removed from the fun. It's working, good luck to you!!
