Harnesses are highly recommended. As long as the pup pulls forward, nothing to worry about. But if he happens to pull back, go with him as they can slip out of a harness, especially if it is a little loose. So take time and fit it to him snuggly....
Hi welcome to YT and to the joy of owning a Yorkie!!

I just wanted to hop on the harness bandwagon. Their tracheas are just to tiny. A harness helps to protect that trachea. I have found they don't pull as much with one either and you have more control of the walk.
