My Tinker Belle started gaining weight after she was spayed. She went from 4.7 lbs to 6 lbs almost overnight. She is 1 1/2 years old.

I switched her to Natural Balance low calorie formula and it says on the sack to feed 5 - 15 lb dogs 1/2 - 1 cup a day.

I tried 1/2 cup but she never lost any weight, so I cut back even more to 1/3 cup and now she's down to 5.6 lbs but that's still too much for her to weigh.

Should I cut back even more - maybe to 1/4 cup? I'm just not sure what a tiny dog like her needs, but I don't want her to be hungry. I'd like to get her back to 4.7 lbs if I could.

She gets very little exercise except chasing her toys. I can't walk her because of the dogs in our neighborhood.
