Just chicken and rice is not a balanced diet for a dog. It is given when they are sick with diarrhea. If you want to home cook for your dogs you need to research dog nutrition quite a bit. However, chicken as a treat? Just boil plain skinless, boneless chicken breast until it is cooked all the way. It's the driest thing ever by people standards, but dogs will eat it up!

btw I don't like to give rice (asian rice anyway) bc it is so soft and sticky, it's really hard to clean out of the beard, and also gets stuck on the roof of the mouth. I can see how a long grain rice like a rice pilaf type shape would be more separated and not stick as much, but we don't eat that kind here. lol

I feed Uni Honest Kitchen "Preference" which is dehydrated raw with no meat and I add in our own meat, either chicken or fish, she loves it like crazy!
