I agree with a previous poster that you can't even begin to compare SD and Acana - it would be like comparing a McDonald's hamburger to filet mignon! The first ingredient, first of all is CORN! Dogs have a very difficult time digesting corn and it shouldn't be part of their diet. That is followed by Chicken by-product meal which, in addition to also being difficult to digest, contains bones, undeveloped eggs and feathers! YUCK! The first ingredients in any dog food should ALWAYS contain either a meat meal (i.e. chicken meal) or a whole meat.
It makes me so angry that there are still vets out there praising and recommending SD simply because they get kick backs from the company, all the while knowing it is a terrible food... shame on them. |
