Bitter apple is how i broke Gus of that. The first few time I caught him I would spray some on my finger and put it in his mouth. But he would go back to the spots he had already damaged and do even more damage. So I spraied the damaged parts heavy and he never did it again. After putting in new carpet I thought he would damage it but he lost interest and we never had the problem again.

Now that is really amazing....you are so lucky....I find the bitter apple totally useless and I have 3 different brands of it. I sure wish it worked for us here. Even if I put down a new doggie bed and I spray all around it first the males just walk right over and mark it....they do not even bother to sniff....sigh
Everything in this house is either chewed or marked. Even the rockers have been chewed off the wooden rocking chairs.I just give up...no sense replacing everything since they will just do it again , and we really do need new carpeting !
