Good luck with the first grooming.

Make sure you specifically tell the groomer what you what done and what you don't want done. If you just say puppy cut with long ears you're probably gonna get something you don't want. A "puppy cut" just means same length all over, it does not specify which length. So be sure to tell the groomer how much hair you want taken off the body or how much hair you want left on the body. Legs even with the body. Head slightly longer then body length and round. The ears are typically tipped on yorkies unless they are floppy ears so if you want the hair left on them be sure to make sure the groomer understands not to tip them. Also tell the groomer if you do not want the hair under the eyes trimmed because you are growing it out for a top knot or whatever reason. The standard thing to do is scissor or shave out the tiny hairs under the eyes so they don't hide the eyes or poke them in the eyes.

The best thing to do is bring a picture with you of a realistic cut you want on your dog.
