It can happen at any age, my girl got it after her 2nd heat at 2 years old. We were lucky to have caught it at all as she had no symptoms, she just was not acting herself. They actually found it during her spay so her spay was what saved her life. Any discharge should be looked at by your veterinarian. Just because it is clear with no odor is not a reason to not be alarmed.
