Black spots (tiny mainly on the tummy) can develope on dogs with sarcoptic mange. I don't know what it is, but when I see it on my dogs I treat them with Revolution.

Chiggers can be killed on people by soaking in a salt water bath, or their is a creme they sell at WalMart for them. Scabies is treated with a pyrethrin creme by prescription. (one application). Or I would even try an application of Nix for head lice... it will probably kill other no-see-ums too.

I would also vacuum daily, especially during the spring and the fall. They seem to be more active here during those seasons.
